MCFARLAND / OREGON—John Schoff, age 74, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 28, 2017, at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born on Dec. 16, 1943, to Earl and Francis (Mullowney) Schoff.
John graduated from Oregon High School in 1962. He was united in marriage to Janice Swenson on Aug. 2, 1969. John worked for G.M. Motors and Schappe Pontiac. He then went on to retire after 34+ years at the University of Wisconsin in January 2006. John enjoyed his Corvette and Corvette shows, as well as an occasional trip to the casino with good friends. The light of his whole life was his family, especially his grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife; son, Bill; and grandchildren, Clayton and Hailey Schoff. He is further survived by his brothers-in-law, Jerry (Betty) Swenson and Tom (Barb) Swenson; sisters-in-law, Barbara and Debbi Swenson; nieces and nephews; and many cousins and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, Martin and Shirley Swenson.
Funeral services will be held at GUNDERSON OREGON FUNERAL AND CREMATION CARE, 1150 Park St., Oregon, at 11 a.m., on Saturday, Jan. 6, 2018. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, and from 10 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday.
