MADISON - Carter James Moll, age 6, was granted his angel wings on Monday, Nov. 9, 2015. He was born on Feb. 8, 2009, in Madison, to his loving and devoted parents, Matthew Moll and Susannah Sonnentag (Mike Welch). Carter touched the hearts of everyone who crossed his path, especially the staff and students at Chavez Elementary School. His smile was radiant and his laugh contagious. His precious memories will always live on and he will be greatly missed by all.
In addition to his parents and loving half-brother, Ethan Moll-Hind of Madison, he is survived by grandparents, Kurt and Kristine Sonnentag of Middleton, Richard Moll of Madison, and Tom and Deborah Blake of Mount Horeb; and great-grandparents, Richard and Joan Skyles of Madison, Wanda Sonnentag of Madison, and Helen Turner of Jamestown, N.Y. He is further survived by aunts and uncles, Sarah and Greg Zephirin and cousin, Zach of Portland, Ore.; James Sonnentag (Kateri Farrell) of Nashville, Tenn.; "Ricky" Moll of Chicago, Ill.; Melinda and Ben Kuehl and cousin, Garrett of Dane; Edward Moll of Middleton; and Emma Moll of Middleton. He is also survived by best buddy, Mike Welch, and numerous other relatives and friends who loved Carter very much. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, Jim Sonnentag, Dick and Pat Moll and Robert Turner.
The family would like to thank Carter's doctors, nurses, caregivers and teachers for the incredible support they provided to Carter throughout his short life. A special thank you goes to the American Family Children's Hospital, UW Clinics and to Carter's exceptional pediatrician, Dr. David Bernhardt.
A visitation will be held at GUNDERSON WEST FUNERAL HOME, 7435 University Ave., Middleton, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m., on Friday, Nov. 20, 2015. The family kindly requests that, in lieu of flowers, gifts in Carter's memory be made to Gio's Garden in Middleton or Central Wisconsin Center in Madison.
