BLACK EARTH—Alice E. Lutz, age 95, of Black Earth, Wis., died on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Heartland Country Village. She was born May 28, 1922, to Lloyd C. and Lillian (Bennett) Sears. Alice was united in marriage to Garver A. Lutz on Dec. 12, 1942; he died on Feb. 16, 1984.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and loved gardening and flowers. She was a member of Midland United Methodist Church and of its United Methodist Women. She was also a 70 year member of the American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include her son, Gary (Kathy) Lutz of Mount Horeb; her daughter, Patricia (Jim) Nye of Madison; seven grandchildren, Brenda (Mark) Warren, Duane (Terri) Lutz, Brent Lutz, Brandon (Amanda) Lutz, and Chris Nye, Mitch (Dana) Hodson and Monica Hodson; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and three brothers, Russell (Francine), Rodger (Grace) and Maynard (Shirley) Sears.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 8, 2018, at the MIDLAND UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, with Rev. Aaron Alfred officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 10:50 a.m. on Thursday at the church. Memorials preferred to the Midland United Methodist Church Women’s Group.
