MOUNT HOREB—Joseph E. Larson, age 19, of Mount Horeb, Wis., died unexpectedly on Friday, July 6, 2018, at home. He was born Aug. 13, 1998, to Bennie and Heidi (Schultz) Larson in Madison, Wis.
He was a member of the Mount Horeb High School Class of 2017, and a current participant in the 18-21 program. Joseph was a vivacious, friendly young man. He enjoyed walking throughout the community and bringing smiles to people’s faces in his work at Culver’s and volunteering at the Driftless Historium.
The family dog, Samson, was the apple of Joseph’s eye, and everyone who knew Joseph knew about Samson. Joseph enjoyed playing video games, watching YouTube, fishing with his father, cooking with his mother, and hanging out with his brother and friends. He will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his mother, Heidi Larson, and his father, Bennie Larson, both of Mount Horeb; his brother, Bennie, at home; grandparents, Thornton E. Schultz of Argonne, Patricia (Michael) Ustanowski of Gilman and Robert (Roberta) Larson of Reedsburg; great-grandmothers, Helen Schultz of Argonne and Margaret Reeson of Dodgeville; aunt and uncles, Robin (Shannon) Ashmus of Mattawan, Mich. and Roman Larson of Minocqua; cousins, Hunter and Raechel Ashmus; and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Barbara Batt Schultz, and great-grandfather, Thornton L. Schultz
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 12, 2018, at MOUNT HOREB EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH, 315 E. Main St., Mount Horeb, with the Rev. John Twiton officiating. A gathering with family and friends will be held from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 11, 2018, at MOUNT HOREB EVANGELICAL LUTHERAN CHURCH.
The Ellestad Camacho Funeral Home, 500 N. 8th St., Mount Horeb, Wis., is serving the family. In lieu of flowers and plants, memorials preferred in memory of Joseph.
