BELOIT—Lawrence Lee Korn, 81, of Beloit, Wis., went peacefully to be with God on Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, in his home surrounded by his family.
He was born June 16, 1936, in Lafayette County, Wis., the son of Henry and Harriet (Hawkinson) Korn Sr. Lawrence was a graduate of Gratiot High School. He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Air Force from 1954 until 1958. Lawrence married Joanne Upmann on Jan. 21, 1961, at St. Joseph Church in Apple River, Ill.
Lawrence was employed by Wisconsin Power and Light, retiring in 1995, after 35 years of service. He was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church, Star Zenith Boat Club, Lions Club, Beloit Noon Kiwanis Club, and the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 191. Lawrence was also a past president of the IBEW Union 965. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, dancing, playing cards, and camping.
Survivors include his wife, Joanne; children, Terri (Keith) Kenitzer of Louisville, Ky., Lori (Kort) Harshman of Nixa, Mo., and Jayne (James) Paddock of Menomonee Falls, Wis; grandchildren, Zachary (Darcy) Kenitzer, Alexandra Kenitzer, Nicole (Craig) Williams, Ty (Andre) Teixeira, Taylor Harshman, Samantha Paddock, and Charles Paddock; great-grandchild, Lucee Mae Williams; and AFS students, Josemi (Art) Buehler, Amman, Jordan and Anders (Ingeborg) Lofvenborg of Stockholm, Sweden. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Henry Jr., David, Leonard, and Joyce Korn.

Visitation of Remembrance will be from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 7, 2017, at DALEY MURPHY WISCH & ASSOCIATES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORIUM, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, Wis. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at ST. JUDE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 737 Hackett St., Beloit, Wis. Interment at Floral Lawn Cemetery, South Beloit, Ill.
