PRAIRIE DU SAC—Duane F. Brissette passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2018, in Sauk City, where he had lived for the last 25 years. He was born on Nov. 18, 1932, to Floyd and Annette Brissette in Cloquet, Minn. He attended St. John’s College and the University of Minnesota.
During his whole life, Duane was involved in art producing works of painting, etching and printing. He showed his work at galleries in Madison, and at the River Arts Gallery in Prairie du Sac. His paintings are in many private collections and at the Madison Museum of Contemporary Art, in Madison.
Duane worked in art departments at various newspapers and advertising agencies in Minnesota, North Dakota and Wisconsin.
Duane is survived by his wife of 48 years, Patricia and his step-daughters, Kathy Vye and Theresa Herzog. Duane and Patty lived a loving partnership which bore creative fruit in Duane’s art and writing and Patty’s music. His companionship and keen intellect will be missed by his family and his friends.
