WisEye Morning Minute: Seclusion & Physical Restraint of Pupils
On November 19th, the Senate Committee on Education held a public hearing on a Senate Bill 527, relating to the seclusion and physical restraint of pupils. Senator LaTonya Johnson (D-Milwaukee) testified that the bill would make "improvements in the way our schools utilize emergency safety measures to protect students and staff." The committee also heard testimony from a father who requested that amendments be made to the bill to better address the needs of students with disabilities.
