Senate Committee on Health and Human Services held a hearing on November 20th on Senate Bill 254, relating to certificates for advance directives and findings of incapacity related to power of attorney for health care. Assembly Author of the bill, Rep. Pat Snyder (R -Schofield), testified that the bill would promote efficiencies in healthcare and reduce cost by allowing communities to better utilize advanced practice providers such as physician assistants (PAs) and advanced practice registered nurses (APRNs). Two doctors, one in favor and one in opposition, each shared a story of a patient that would have been impacted by this legislation.
