The deputy director of the University of Florida Press has been chosen to be the new director of the University of Wisconsin Press.
Dennis Lloyd, one of two finalists for the job along with Kathy Borkowski, Wisconsin Historical Society Press director, has been named the director of the 78-year-old publishing enterprise, UW-Madison said in a news release.
Lloyd will start his new duties in May, taking over for interim director Lea Jacobs.
Lloyd has 20 years' experience in university press work at Florida, Alabama, Kentucky and Pitt. He most recently chaired the digital committee of the Association of American University Presses.
The University of Wisconsin Press, a division of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Education, has published more than 3,000 books since 1937 and has more than 1,400 titles in print. The Press also publishes 11 peer-reviewed journals in the humanities, social sciences and medicine.
