Two men have been arrested in connection with a May shooting incident in which a Southeast Side house was hit by gunfire.
Maurice Bowman, 18, and his cousin Derrick Bowman, 18, both of Madison, were arrested Thursday, Madison police said.
Maurice Bowman was tentatively charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, and Derrick Bowman was tentatively charged with being party to the crime of second-degree reckless endangerment.
On May 16, officers were sent to the 500 block of Tompkins Drive after five shots were fired into the home. Five bullet holes were discovered along with two shell casings.
Following a rash of gunfire incidents in Madison, police arrested seven people later in May. Many of the incidents were related to gangs.
DeSpain said the number of shots fired in the city has decreased dramatically in recent weeks, as police have focused on arresting the people believed to be responsible for the gun violence.
