A three-stall attached garage was destroyed by fire early Wednesday morning in Sauk City, but the fire was brought under control before extending into the residence.

No injuries were reported in the fire in the 1600 block of Oak Street, the Sauk City Fire Department said in a news release.

No damage estimate or cause of the fire was given.

Firefighters from the Sauk City and Prairie du Sac departments responded to the blaze at 5:47 a.m., with crews seeing the fire reaching into the sky from six blocks away.

"The attached three-vehicle garage was fully engulfed and spreading to the residence," the release stated. "Heavy fire was showing from the garage doors and attic area."

It took firefighters about an hour to bring the fire under control, with crews staying on the scene until about 8:30 a.m.

Two vehicles and a boat were in the garage and were destroyed in the fire. The home suffered smoke and water damage.
