A 31-year-old man was slashed on his leg Sunday afternoon during a fight on the city's South Side, with the man who allegedly cut the victim arrested at the scene.

Jorge Cuahuey-Espino, 42, Madison, was tentatively charged with second-degree reckless endangerment, Madison police said.

The fight took place in a parking lot in the 1900 block of South Park Street at about 2:50 p.m. Sunday.

Callers to 911 said two men were fighting and one was swinging a knife.

"When officers arrived they found the victim with a leg cut," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. "He was treated by fire department paramedics."

DeSpain said the suspect and victim knew each other.
