RACINE — A suspect is still on the loose after a Sunday night police chase that began in Milwaukee County and ended in Racine.

Sgt. Sheronda Grant with the Milwaukee Police Department said the chase began about 7:45 p.m. when MPD officers spotted a vehicle near North 11th Street and West Wright Street that was wanted in connection to a recent robbery/homicide. Grant said the vehicle fled the scene and MPD officers pursued.

The Mount Pleasant Police Department assisted in the pursuit. Capt. Matthew Soens said the chase ended near Washington and Taylor avenues, with the suspect fleeing the area on foot. He was never located.

At about 9 p.m. Sunday, police were seen searching the Park “bowl,” or valley not far from Park High School, 1901 12th St.

The suspect’s name has not been released by any involved agencies. The only description given police Sunday night was that of a male wearing a black-and-white jacket, Sgt. Tim Koetting of the Racine Police Department said.

The Wisconsin State Patrol and Racine County Sheriff’s Office also were involved in the pursuit.
