How Midwestern states are responding to the COVID-19 pandemic

On April 16, several Midwestern governors — Democrats and Republicans — pledged to work together on a plan to reopen their states' economies once the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic starts to let up. While there's been little outward evidence of collaboration, states in the region all face similar challenges. So far, however, each has addressed the crisis in his or her own way.
