Roughly 20 people protested the June 14 Baraboo School Board meeting, urging the board to “unmask our children.” Five community members, including some district parents and a Baraboo pediatrician, said during public comment that the board should make masks optional for all students, regardless of age or COVID-19 vaccination status. A motion to do so failed on a 3-3 tie; instead, the board decided to end the mask requirement for students 12 and older starting July 7 and for everyone outdoors starting now.
