Take a free family-friendly nature walk through Edna Taylor Conservation Park 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday with Madison Audubon, Madison Parks, Friends of Edna Taylor Conservation Park, and Friends of Aldo Leopold Nature Center. Meet and start from the parking lot at Aldo Leopold Nature Center, 330 Femrite Drive.

Enjoy a free family-friendly Christmas Eve nature hike 1:30 to 3 p.m. Sunday from the Picnic Point parking lot at UW-Madison Lakeshore Nature Preserve, 2000 University Bay Drive. Search the trees for woodpeckers and other birds with members of Madison Audubon and Friends of the Lakeshore Nature Preserve. Afterwards, warm up with hot chocolate and marshmallows around a campfire.

Marimba holiday music

Strike a happy note and “Welcome Bach Holidays” as marimba soloist Matthew Coley performs a seasonal concert 7 p.m. Friday at Landmark Auditorium, First Unitarian Society, 900 University Bay Drive. Coley will play music from a repertoire that includes his arrangements/co-arrangements of “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Sleigh Ride,” Bach’s “Prelude and Fugue” Nos. 1-3 and 4-6, Mozart’s “Magic Flute Medley,” and “Frosty the Snowman.” Admission is a suggested donation of $15.

‘Guys on Ice’

Spend some time with two fishing buddies (and home-grown philosophers) from up north in their ice shanty at Barrymore Theater, 2090 Atwood Ave., 7:30 p.m. Friday, 2:30 p.m. Saturday and Wednesday, 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, and 7:30 p.m. Dec. 29. Marvin and Lloyd talk and sing about life, love, and the one that got away in the musical comedy “Guys on Ice.” But, they gotta stay on their toes to protect their Leinie’s from Ernie the Moocher! Comedy night

Don’t let the holidays get your goat, laugh yourself silly 9 p.m. to midnight Friday at Thirsty Goat, 3040 Cahill Main, Fitchburg. Their Comedy Night features Adam McShane, David Schendlinger, Jake Snell, Dana Ehrmann, and Elliot GB. There will be drink specials and no cover charge to enjoy the show.
