Dear Editor: Since the day Paul Ryan developed his love affair with Ayn Rand, Ryan fulfilled his dreams of cutting taxes for the wealthy with a $1.5 trillion increase in America’s deficit and an attempt to destroy America’s social safety net for our elderly (Social Security and Medicare).
Ayn Rand’s “survival of the fittest” and materialistic ideology consumed Paul Ryan’s soul and values. Despite Ryan’s Catholic altar boy image, he was a capitalistic soldier boy for the wealthy elite, willing to throw our children and elderly under Wall Street's bus of greed!
Worse yet, Ryan voted for a war that destabilized the Middle East, which increased America’s deficit by $4 trillion; voted in favor of granting China "most-favored-nation" status, which helped destroy America’s manufacturing base that provided over 4 million jobs; and voted to deregulate Wall Street banks, which led to the 2008 housing market crash and the Great Recession. This is Paul Ryan’s legacy of greed.
