Cap Times Talks Gerrymandering

Redistricting — the process of redrawing political boundaries — will happen this year with the release of once-a-decade U.S. Census data, setting up an enormous political battle.

Democrats contend that the boundaries drawn a decade ago were a gerrymander that gave Republicans an unfair advantage. And while their efforts to overturn the maps in court were unsuccessful, they are pushing hard for a different result this time with a Democratic governor in office.

In this video, Cap Times state government reporter Briana Reilly leads a discussion with Sachin Chheda of the Fair Elections Project, Moon Duchin of the MGGG Redistricting Lab and Rick Esenberg of the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty about how redistricting will and should proceed in the state.
