Capitol Report: Walker’s new ad plays up themes of holiday season

A new campaign ad for Gov. Scott Walker began airing statewide Wednesday, with the First Lady asking voters of the state during "this season of peace" to "put our differences aside and move forward together."

The "Holiday Spirit" ad, released by The Friends of Scott Walker campaign, shows Walker, First Lady Tonette and the couple's two sons volunteering their time wrapping presents and serving food. The First Lady takes a prominent role, narrating a majority of the ad.

A transcript of the 30-second ad is as follows:

First Lady Tonette Walker: "The holidays are a time for us to give thanks and to reach out to those who are struggling. It's a tough time for many families, but in Wisconsin, we have a long tradition of helping our neighbors. We're grateful for the opportunity to serve the people of Wisconsin. In this season of peace, our hope is that we can put our differences aside and move forward together."

Gov. Walker: "From our family to yours, blessings of the season."
