A New Mexico man wanted in that state for allegedly selling a gun to a federal agent was arrested in Green County early Wednesday morning.
Paul C. Owens, 42, of Truth or Consequences, N.M., was taken into custody by Green County sheriff's deputies at about 1:30 a.m. Wednesday at a residence on Wisconsin 81 in the town of Jordan, according to a news release from the Sheriff's Department.
Deputies arrested Owens after getting information from the U.S. Marshals Service that he was wanted in New Mexico on charges of violating the conditions of release for selling stolen firearms to a state police narcotics agent. and for possession of methamphetamines and drug paraphernalia.
Owens also was tentatively charged in Green County with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, and he also had warrants pending from Darlington and Lafayette County.
