A disabled man was knocked out of his wheelchair in a parking lot Saturday afternoon by a teenage relative who robbed the victim and his wife, Madison police reported.
The suspect, Ricky Harris, 17, of Madison, was followed by a citizen as he fled, with the citizen staying on the phone with 911 to help officers find him and make the arrest.
Harris was tentatively charged with strong arm robbery, battery to a vulnerable adult, battery and disorderly conduct.
The incident was reported by several callers to 911 at 2:43 p.m. Saturday in the parking lot of Farm and Fleet, 2202 S. Stoughton Road.
According to the police report, the 37-year-old Fitchburg man in the wheelchair was flipped out of the chair by the suspect, with the victim's pants coming down during the attack.
"His wife, a 42-year-old Fitchburg woman, tried to intervene, and was also punched four to five times in the head," said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. "The suspect took her money and her husband's cell phone."
It wasn't disclosed by police how Harris was related to the victims.
