On Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 8pm, ArtLitLab presents a new quartet, made up of musical faces and feelings both old and new, from established relationships and fresh possibilities, concerned with the ever-ongoing work of free improvisation and composition in the moment. Keefe Jackson (saxophones, bass clarinet), Jen Clare Paulson (viola), Lia Kohl (cello), and Jason Roebke (bass) are convening in Madison for a spring evening of strings and reeds sounds, strategies, and vibrations. This is a rare opportunity to hear these four musicians, from the worlds of new music, free jazz, and the non-context in their natural habitat, stretching out. Madison resident and former Chicagoan Paulson, along with three current Chicagoans will be digging hard, diving deep, and making small motions, altogether and separately, at ArtLitLab.
Tickets are $15 in advance at https://keefejacksonquartet.brownpapertickets.com, and $20 at the door. Student tickets $5 off with a valid school ID. Advance ticket sales end 1 hour before the show. Doors open at 7:30pm.
The ALL Jazz Series is sponsored in part by Alchemy, Dobhan, and Tex Tubbs Restaurants, WORT 89.9FM, Heid Music, and HotelRED. Student ticket discount made possible by Grant Samuelsen Real Estate.
