Neighborhood House Community Center invites you to apply to its community-focused Youth Summer Day Camp. Youth ages 7 – 12 are invited to attend day camp filled with structured activities, field trips, and speakers based on weekly themes, including arts & crafts, nature, cooking, sports & games, swimming, STEM, and more.  To apply, please read the information below, then return the completed application to Neighborhood House Community Center at 29 S. Neighborhood House’s Youth Summer Day Camp runs June 24 – August 16, 2019 from 9:00am – 4:00pm with an extended day option from 7:30am – 5:30pm. Price for extended day to be determined. Campers can sign up for all eight weeks or only those that are of interest.

GET MESSY Week 1: June 24 – 28

Camp kicks off with a week of messy games, projects, and activities like tie-dye & print making. Campers will enjoy field trips, guest speakers, and working in our garden while getting their hands dirty.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME Week 2: July 1 – 5 (skip 7/4)

 “Home” can mean a lot of things! Campers will explore their home of Madison, WI through guest speakers, games, arts & crafts, field trips, and food!

AROUND THE WORLD & BACK Week 3: July 8 – 12

Celebrate the diverse world in which we live! Students will experience the sights, sounds, smells, and tastes of a variety of cultures and share about their own through community groups/speakers and field trips.

“I MADE THAT!” Week 4: July 15 – 19

DIY your heart out! Campers will spend the week making all kinds of goodies and learning new skills such as candle-making, knitting/crochet, cooking, coding, and more. Campers will learn from guest speakers and field trips.

INTO THE WILD Week 5: July 22 – 26

Get ready to explore the nature world right in our own backyard. We will focus activities and crafts on science, animals, nature, and gardening including visits to UW’s greenhouses, gardens, and museums!

GAME ON!  Week 6: July 29 – Aug 2

Play games of every sort and shape, including kickball, volleyball, tennis, board games, chess and more. Campers will get the chance to create their own game and attend field trips and community speakers.

OUT OF THE PAST Week 7: Aug 5 – 9

Take a peek into a past life. Campers will explore history through museum visits, guest speakers, and games and crafts that harken back to a simpler time.

“WHAT’S COOKING?”  Week 8: Aug 12 – 16

Let your inner chef shine! To wrap up camp we will spend the week cooking and eating. Campers will take field trips, including a trip to Rocky Rococo’s to make their own pizza!
