Ten Wisconsin companies have earned a place on the 2013 Fortune 500 list, released this week by Fortune magazine, up from nine in 2012.

One Madison company is included: American Family Insurance Group, at No. 393.

The Wisconsin addition to the ranks this year is Joy Global, ranked No. 446.

Among the new companies on this year’s Fortune 500 is Kraft Foods Group, at No. 151. The parent of Madison-based Oscar Mayer, Kraft was spun off of the former Kraft Foods which now is known as Mondelez International and is made up of snack foods. Mondelez is No. 88 on the list.

The annual rankings are based on total revenues for U.S. companies for their respective fiscal years.

Wal-Mart reclaimed the No. 1 position with $469.2 billion in revenues, knocking ExxonMobil back to No. 2.

The Wisconsin companies and their rankings, including 2012 rankings in parentheses, are:
