Pets Available for Adoption at the
Carl W. Nelson Animal Shelter
“Changing the Future of Animal Sheltering”
P.O. Box 345, Mauston, WI 53948 •
Rose is a lovely lady who is about 1 1/2 years
old. She was surrendered to us when her
owner couldn’t take care of all the animals
in the home. Rose is confused as to why she’s
here, but is still doing her best to always be
a good girl. She enjoys treats & takes them
gently. Rose adores going for walks and
exploring outside. She needs a little work on
leash, but the more often she practices, the
better she gets. Rose is a very athletic young
lady who enjoys physical activity, so if you are
looking for a walking partner, she’s the girl for you! Rose can be very selective
about what dogs she likes. She might do okay with just the right dog, or she could
happily be the the only canine in the home. Rose keeps her kennel tidy so it seems
likely that she’s housebroken.

Our shelter is located at:
W5096 State Rd 82 E,
Mauston, WI 53948
Hours of Operation:

Monday – Closed
Tuesday: 12-3 PM
Wednesday through Sunday: 1-4 PM

What’s up folks? I’m
Dahli and I’ve been at
the shelter since January!
I’m a well mannered &
handsome young man.
I’m neutered, up to date
on vaccines, and I’ve been
tested for feline leukemia/FIV. I get along with
the other cats here at the shelter. My caretakers
say I don’t have a single fault, so why hasn’t
someone come for me?
BEEN PAID! Pancake is a
young lady who is eager
for a home. She is a gray
tabby with some orange,
and a really cute face. A
sweet & tidy cat, but she
did not like the pesky boy
kittens who thought she
was their mom, so she is
in foster care. Her foster
home reports that she is a
great guest & is very happy. She would make an ideal
only cat & she may get long with another laid back cat
that would let her have her space. Free to the right
home. If you would like to meet Pancake, please call
608-847-4060 & leave a msg.

Our adoption fees are $50 for cats/$75 for kittens and $150 for dogs/$175 for puppies. All of our animals
are examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, and have had all age-appropriate vaccinations and
tests. If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact our Foster Care Coordinator at or call 608-847-4060 and leave a message on mailbox 1. To see picture of our foster
animals visit our web site at, or check us out on Facebook. Our aluminum can collection
bins are located at the shelter building and Heinie’s Tavern. State of Wisconsin. License Number: 411646.
