Pets Available for Adoption at the
Carl W. Nelson Animal Shelter
“Changing the Future of Animal Sheltering”
P.O. Box 345, Mauston, WI 53948 •
Emma is a good natured cattle dog/
terrier mix who is 5 years old. She’s
a medium sized girl. Sadly, Emma’s
owner passed away and no one else
was able to care for her. Emma does a
great job of keeping her kennel clean,
so it seems likely she’s housebroken.
dogs she likes, so a meet and greet needs to be scheduled before she
goes home with a doggie pal. Emma just adores people and is a happy
little lady who is friendly and willing to please. Her tail is always
wagging! She does have a good bit of energy and would be a wonderful
walking companion, or she would enjoy her own yard to play in.

Our shelter is located
at W5096 State Rd 82 E,
Mauston WI
Hours of Operation:

Monday – Closed
Tuesday through Sunday: 12-3 PM

What a doll! Nicholas
is a handsome boy all
ready to go to a home of
his own. He’s neutered,
up to date on vaccines,
tested for FELV/FIV,
and is a healthy, robust
boy! He loves to play
and is still young
enough to adjust to any household. You would
not be sorry if you give this boy a chance!
Bonnie is a spunky girl who is about
two years old. This girl is just beautiful,
with her patterned coat and striking
green eyes. She has had a very difficult
time adjusting to life at the shelter
as she finds it challenging to live in a
community room with so many other
cats. She does value her space, and
isn’t really interested in being best
friends with most other felines. She
could probably learn to coexist in a
house with another laid back kitty, or
she would be perfectly happy to be the only pet. She would also
love a window with a view! Bonnie is patiently waiting to meet
that special family who will treat her like the princess she is.

Our adoption fees are $50 for cats/$75 for kittens and $150 for dogs/$175 for puppies. All of our animals are
examined by a veterinarian, spayed or neutered, and have had all age-appropriate vaccinations and tests.
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, visit the shelter during business hours to meet
them and complete an adoption application. To see picture of our foster animals visit our web site at, or check us out on Facebook. Our aluminum can collection bins are located at the
