Juneau County in Mauston, Wisconsin is seeking an individual to perform the
statutory and designated duties of Medical Examiner, including being responsible
for conducting death investigations to determine the cause and manner of death
and managing the Medical Examiner’s Office. The duties will include onsite
evaluations, interviewing witnesses, report writing and attending autopsies within
all applicable state laws and County regulations.Requirements as follows:Associate
degree in nursing, chemistry, biology, medicine, pre-med, paramedic, EMT, forensic
science or Criminal Justice or closely related field and medical investigative
experience required. A combination of education and experience that provides the
necessary knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered. Approved training in
death investigation must be completed within the first year of employment.
Additional requirements: possession of or eligibility for a valid Wisconsin driver’s
license and possession of reliable transportation.Applicants must be able to lift 50lbs
and move 300lbs with assistance.This position includes availability to work evenings,
weekends and holidays. Criminal background check and drug screening will be
