The Madison Police Department’s Violent
Crimes Unit and Madison Area Crime Stoppers
need YOUR help in identifying suspects
involved in a major weapons violation.
On November 24th, at 8:42pm, Madison
Police Officers responded to the 4500
block of Cottage Grove Road regarding
multiple shots fired.
Officers found 45 shell casings, two
damaged vehicles and damage to
buildings. From the evidence collected,
it is believed that there were two sides
shooting at one another.
Several rounds entered into neighboring residences, missing one occupant
by approximately 5 feet. Other people sought shelter upon hearing the
rounds strike their residences. Several people were contacted by police and
several apartments searched.
In addition, it was discovered that one round entered the bedroom of a
sleeping child with the toddler’s stuff toy shark taking a bullet.
