download the digital documents for
$20.00 by inputting project #7103136. An
optional paper set is also available from
the office of General Engineering Company, P.O. Box 340, 916 Silver Lake Drive,
Portage, WI 53901. An 11 x 17 half size
plan set, specification book and a CD can
be obtained upon payment of a
non-refundable fee of $55.00. If a paper
copy of full-size plans are requested the
non-refundable deposit fee will be
$110.00. Requests for paper plans are to
be accompanied by the General Engineering Plan Request Form (PRF). The
form is available on the company website
or at its office.
There are no prevailing wage rates for
this contract.
Bids must be accompanied by bid
security in the form of a certified check or
bid bond equal to five percent of the
maximum bid price, payable to the Owner
as a guaranty that if the Bid is accepted,
the Bidder will execute the Contract
Documents and furnish the required
contract security. If the Successful Bidder
fails to execute the Contract Documents
and provide the required contract security
within 15 days after the Notice of Award,
the Owner may annul the Notice of Award
and the Bid Security will be forfeited.
Bids may not be withdrawn within 60 days
after the date of the bid opening. The
Owner reserves the right to reject any or
all Bids, and to award the Contract to the
Bidder, who in the judgment of the
Owner, will best serve the interest of the
Owner.
Any contract or contracts awarded under
this Advertisement for Bids may be
funded in part by a grant from the
Department of Natural Resources
(WDNR) Knowles Nelson Stewardship
Grant Program and Recreational Trails
Program (RTP) as delegated from US
Federal Highways to WDNR.
Disadvantaged Business Enterprises
(DBE), including Minority-Owned Business Enterprises (MBE) and WomenOwned Business Enterprises (WBE), are
encouraged to submit bid proposals.
Prime contractors will be required to
provide a list of DBE sub-contractors and
those that were solicited for bids.

TRAILS PROJECT

BIDS CLOSE: THURSDAY JULY 23rd,
2020 AT 11:00 AM LOCAL TIME
The City of Portage will receive sealed
Bids for the Pauquette Park Pavilion and
Trails Project at the Portage City Hall, 115
West Pleasant St., Portage, WI 53901 at
the time and date stated above, at which
time, all Bids will be publicly opened and
read aloud.
The Work for which Bids are asked
includes the following:
Contract 1 – Park Pavilion – Construction
of a steel framed covered canopy park
pavilion building (2580 sq. ft.).The scope
of work will include a concrete foundation
and slab, steel framed column/roof
structure,masonry rear wall, decorative
stonework on the columns, and electrical
systems.
Contract 2 – Trails/Sidewalk - Construction of approximately 4,600 square feet of
new 5-foot wide concrete sidewalk;
construction of approximately 700 square
yards of new 8-foot wide bituminous
asphalt path; modular block retaining wall
construction, restoration, and erosion
