OWNER/TIME: The City of Portage is soliciting bids for the 2019 Library Sprinkler Project. Sealed bids will be received by the City of Portage, Columbia County, Wisconsin, until Thursday, June 27, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. C.D.T., at the City of Portage City Hall, 115 W. Pleasant St., Portage, Wisconsin 53901. Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud at the above time and place. Each bid must be submitted on the bid forms provided in the Contract Documents and shall be enclosed in a sealed envelope addressed to the City of Portage and marked "Bid" with the project name.
Work includes removal and replacement of corroded branch lines on existing dry system. Removal and replacement of corroded branch lines on existing dry system. Removal and re-installation of existing sprinklers/drops in ceiling area. Installation of a nitrogen generator. Proper disposal of existing materials.

Contract Documents may also be obtained at the City of Portage City Hall, (115 W. Pleasant St., Portage WI 53901; Telephone 608-742-2176) starting Thursday, June 13, 2019 between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Contract Documents are available for a non-refundable fee of $25.00 per set, and an additional non-refundable fee of $20.00 per set if they are to be mailed to the Contractor. Request by mail must be received before Wednesday, June 19, 2019. All bidders shall bid in accordance with, and shall bid upon the forms provided.

The Contract Documents require that the selected Contractor furnish a Certificate of Insurance and Payment and Performance Bonds. The Contractor is hereby notified that the Certificate of Insurance and Payment and Performance Bonds will be required to be issued in the amount of the bid and that the City of Portage reserves the right to enforce the conditions contained therein as it relates to the contract.
1.The contract letting shall be subject to the provisions of the Wisconsin Statutes, including Sections 61.55,61.56,62.15,66.0901,66.0903,779.1and 779.16.
BID GUARANTEE: Only those bids that are accompanied by a Bid Bond or unqualified certified check in an amount not less than five percent (5%) of the bid will be considered. The Bid Bond or certified check shall be issued in the applicable amount of the bid for the City of Portage. The bid bond or certified check serves as a guarantee that if the bid is accepted, the bidder will execute and file the agreement and a 100% Performance and Payment Bond within fifteen (15) days after the Notice of Award. In case the bidder fails to file such contract and bond within the time set forth, the certified check or Bid Bond shall be forfeited to the City of Portage as liquidated damages.
BID WITHDRAWAL: No bid shall be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the bid opening date without the consent of the City of Portage.
BID REJECTION: The City of Portage reserves the right to reject any or all bids, reserves the right to accept any bid most advantageous, or waive any technicality. Publish: June 13, 2019 and June 20, 2019
