LA CROSSE, Wis. -- Jason Terry scored 15 points, including a 40-foot 3-pointer at the halftime buzzer, as the Dallas Mavericks beat the Milwaukee Bucks 105-79 in an exhibition game Friday night.

The Mavericks showed how much of a gap there is between a perennial playoff team and a work in progress like the Bucks, who have a new coach, new general manager and 13 new players on the 19-man roster.

Dallas, with owner Mark Cuban in attendance, led by five after the first quarter, then opened up a 47-27 lead at the half on Terry's buzzer-beater. Terry was 6-of-8 on field-goal attempts.

Dirk Nowitzki added 11 points in 18 minutes for Dallas (3-0). Jerry Stackhouse also hit for 11 points for the Mavericks, who led as many as 25 points, 69-44, in the third quarter.

Andrew Bogut scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds in 28 minutes for the Bucks (0-3).

Ramon Sessions led the Bucks with 11 points, while Luc Mbah a Moute added 10 in 33 minutes of action. Richard Jefferson, acquired in an offseason trade with New Jersey for Bobby Simmons and Yi Jianlian, scored nine points.

A crowd of 4,289 turned out for the game at the La Crosse Center.

The Bucks will board a charter aircraft on Sunday morning at Mitchell International Airport and head to China for two preseason games. The team was chosen to represent the NBA in the 2008 NBA China games. New head coach Scott Skiles will prepare for games against the Golden State Warriors on Wednesday, Oct. 15 (airs at 7 a.m. on ESPN2), in Guangzhou and Saturday, Oct. 18 (airs Friday at 10:30 p.m. on ESPN2), in Beijing.
