WAUSAU -- The Madison Mallards had a rough fourth inning in Saturday night's game against the Wisconsin Woodchucks, with starting pitcher Nolan Cain allowing three runs, leading to a 3-2 loss.
Cain (LSU) held the Woodchucks hitless for the first three innings. Woodchucks right-handed pitcher Bobby Pritchett allowed two base hits and one unearned run while striking out eight Mallards.
The two teams combined had just seven hits on the night, and the Mallards left eight runners in scoring position throughout the game. The Woodchucks' sweep leaves the first-half champion Mallards at 0-2 for the second half.
