A Madison police officer escaped serious injury Sunday afternoon when his squad car hit and flipped a delivery truck while on his way to a domestic dispute.
The crash happened just after 4:30 p.m. at Milwaukee Street and Stoughton Road on the city's far east side.
The truck driver was not injured, and the officer was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to a police report, the officer was heading east on Milwaukee Street to respond to the domestic dispute call while the truck driver had just taken the off-ramp from Stoughton Road and was turning onto Milwaukee Street when the squad struck the truck.
The crash remains under investigation; no citations had been issued as of Monday morning.
