Ralph Nader coming to Madison

The Capital Times  —  8/28/2008 12:52 pm

Perennial presidential candidate Ralph Nader will hold a press conference and rally in Madison Sept. 5 at the Orpheum Theatre, 216 State St., beginning at 7 p.m.

The 74-year-old independent, criticized by Democrats for pulling votes away from Al Gore and purportedly helping George Bush win the 2000 presidential election, is making his fourth straight bid for the Oval Office.

Nader will address issues he says the two main candidates, Democrat Barack Obama and Republican John McCain, have "taken off the table," including a negotiated military and corporate withdrawal from Iraq, a public health insurance system for everyone, a living wage and repeal of the Taft-Hartley Act, and a non-nuclear, solar-based energy policy.

For more information about Nader's Madison appearance, contact Justin Richardson at 608-215-1342 or e-mail events@votenader.org.
