77 Square is the definitive arts, culture and entertainment guide for Madison, Wis., and the surrounding area.
Quiches, sweets, yogurt, salads and small plates of cafe-style food are taking the place of quesadillas and tacos at the Pasqual's location in Verona at 100 Cross Country Road.
Now known as the Gallup Coffee and Bake House, the refocused coffee shop is still under the ownership of local restaurateur Benjamin Roberts and is open from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. every day.
In addition to the name change and new menu, Circolo Catering -- the catering arm of Pasqual's -- will be expanding at the Verona address, according to catering director Melissa Payne.
Pasqual's on Monroe Street and Pasqual's at Hilldale, also owned by Roberts, will continue to serve their signature Southwestern cuisine, Payne said.
"Circolo Catering has been increasingly successful over the last year, and these changes mean we can focus more on that business in this location," Payne said.
She added that in the months to come there will be food events at the Verona site, which has a large deck and a semi-rural atmosphere and overlooks a large pond. These events will be known as the Circolo Supper Club, and she said they may range from fine dining nights with special menus paired with wine to Super Bowl parties.
"We'll have a lot of flexibility," she said. "We can host private parties, do wine and cheese tastings, maybe have a pig roast picnic.
"We'll probably do something every couple of weeks, and it will always be changing. We're planning to have people sign up on our Web site (www.circolocatering.com). We think it's going to be fun."
